Practice
David is a member of the law firm Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC, and serves on its Board of Managers.
His practice areas include trusts and estates, business transactions, agriculture, tax planning and advocacy, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, not-for-profit organizations and health care.
In the area of trusts and estates, David's practice includes estate, retirement, business succession and tax planning, and probate and trust administration for individuals, estates and trusts, family-owned businesses, private foundations and charitable organizations.
David's business law practice includes commercial and personal representation of, and strategic planning for, business and professional clients, including representation on executive compensation and buy-sell issues, structural, transactional and tax-related matters, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and sales of business assets and entities, negotiation of financial transactions and the private offering of securities.
In the area of agricultural law, David represents dairy farms and vegetable growers in New York and Florida with respect to tax, business succession and related matters.
Recent Experience
- Lead attorney in a $55 million sale of a privately held high technology business to a public company;
- Lead attorney in the sale of a multi-state wine distributorship;
- Advisor to clients establishing an endowed chair at a major university and to clients establishing a multi-million dollar fund at a regional community organization;
- Advisor to the trustee of a recently funded private foundation that will be one of the largest in Central New York;
- Business succession and tax planning for a major regional retail business, a major regional manufacturer, and for several major dairy operations, each with first and second generation participants involved in business operations;
- Lead attorney in the establishment of a biodiesel processing and soybean-crushing facility.
