Practice

Michael is a member of the firm practicing primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, workouts, debtor and creditor rights, business acquisitions, real estate and telecommunications. Michael was formerly a partner in two Syracuse area law firms.

Michael has over ten years of experience acting as both an arbitrator and a mediator in commercial transactions, bankruptcy, debtor and creditor rights, and workouts. He receives frequent referrals from both the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York where he is on a select Panel of Mediators and Arbitrators.

Michael routinely lectures for bar association groups and accountants regarding all aspects of bankruptcy law.

Recent Experience

Represented creditors and debtors in major Chapter 11 reorganization cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York;
As Counsel to secured creditors in the Bennett Funding Group Chapter 11 case, he organized counsel on all sides of this difficult matter, maintained productive dialogue, and resolved various disputes that arose. He succeeded in helping to negotiate a settlement that satisfied a large majority of the secured creditor body;
Operating trustee in the Telergy Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, successfully selling off the telecommunications assets while conducting the business of the company.
