Practice

Virginia is a member of the firm. She focuses her practice on the representation of individuals and entities involved in the areas of estate planning, elder law, estate litigation, Medicaid planning, business succession planning, special needs trust and disability planning, including related tax planning and federal and state fiduciary tax preparation. In addition, she works with individuals and businesses to register and protect trademark and copyright interests as part of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Previously, Virginia practiced with Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon in Chicago.

Virginia assists clients in all aspects of estate planning and provides guidance, advocacy, and representation to clients who are confronted with the difficulties of estate and trust administration and litigation, including beneficiary and fiduciary disputes, complex administration matters, guardianships and fiduciary income and estate tax preparation and audits.

In the area of Intellectual Property, Virginia's experience includes coordinating with client's advertising and/or marketing departments to select and protect trademarks for their products or services, completing the registration of the trademark, and developing an intellectual property audit to assist clients in valuing their intellectual property portfolio. She also assists clients in negotiation and drafting of contracts related to the licensing of intellectual property.

Virginia is a frequent presenter for the New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations and agencies serving individuals with disabilities. In addition, Virginia has appeared on Financial Fitness, WCNY as a panelist.
