Green & Seifter Attorneys Present an Overview of NY Tax Enforcement Initiatives

Syracuse - June 9, 2010 - Three attorneys from the law firm of Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC, - Paul M. Predmore, Steven A. Paquette, and Julia B. Joyce - recently conducted a seminar at the Onondaga County Bar Association on NY Tax Enforcement Initiatives.  Topics included civil NY tax considerations, the audit process, the appeal process, criminal tax considerations, the collection process, and the Voluntary Disclosure and Compliance Program (VDCP).   

Predmore, a Member of the firm, is the principal attorney overseeing all tax controversies at both the federal and state levels. He has extensive experience in dealing with the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance on audit, administrative appeals, litigation, and collection issues. Paul has assisted both individuals and businesses in successfully resolving complex federal and state tax matters in audits and appeals and negotiating numerous offers in compromise resulting in significant savings. He is a graduate of Albany Law School (J.D., 1984) and St. John Fisher College (B.A., 1981). He is admitted to practice in New York and the United States Tax Court.

Paquette, a Member of the firm, is an experienced litigator and brings over 30 years of practical experience to seek fair and reasoned solutions to client problems in and outside the courts. He has substantial experience working in both the private and public sector including having served as a New York State Tax Attorney for six years. Paquette is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., 1979) and Syracuse University - S.I. Newhouse School (B.S., 1977). He is admitted to practice in New York.

Joyce is an Associate with the firm. She joined Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC shortly after receiving her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2009. She is also a graduate of Syracuse University (B.A., 2006). Joyce is admitted to practice in New York.
